Again, you miss the point. I came to the County administrator's office, because the City Council had two concerns, as stated. I do not understand the use of "forceful" in the request. It is simply a point that the City Council wanted clarified. I even went out of my way to directly meet with Bob. You unfortunately refer to the second issue as "my" jab. You are wrong. It is a real concern of the Council that County board members not be paid for attending this meeting, not mine. I am not aware that the Mayor or Council will "hit below the belt." Do you have a concern that County reps or Township reps might do that? I was trying to be diplomatic by using the word "request" instead of the unilateral and more forceful phrase I believed you used when you came into the County Government Center yesterday. I know the Wilson Township Board, many Wilson residents, the Winona County Township Officers, and even many City residents also believe the meeting is a good idea. Many people would like to see us figure out what the problems are and, gosh forbid, even work out solutions beforehand, rather than after irreversible and important decisions are made about annexation and development. It's foolish (and expensive) to first leap then look. More importantly, it's a joint meeting. Everyone will be equal, no one will be superior. No one will be able to control or dictate to anyone else. We'll sit in a shape with no one at the center and all voices; township, city, and county will be equal. I realize this will be new and strange to many. 3. I strongly support video taping County Board meetings, I'm the one who brought the issue forward. Even so, I recognize and respect the views of my fellow Commissioners who voted otherwise. 4. About per diems. If you are concerned about me, check how many I've taken in the last year and a half.
