I too noted Notice of Public Hearing on this matter on Page 4C legal
notices area of today's Winona Daily News. It surprised me too that
there hasn't been more information for the public in the varied
media?
Is that why all the iron and steel is located all over the sandy
land area
where the winter sand piles used to be for the City? Wasn't the
commercial harbor going to be dredged and enlarged in that area for
improved barge holding areas etc.?
I note there will be a public hearing to determine the advisability
of
the sale of the property to the Maritime Heritage Society at Winona
City Hall Council Chambers on Thursday, Nov. 18 at 4:00 p.m. in
case some of you do not have an awareness regarding this matter.

According to the surveyor's legal description ( which I
wouldn't have a clue
in reading if it didn't mention Crooked Slough ) it's
along Riverview Drive
at the entrance to the harbor between the boat houses
and the salt pile. I'm
not sure exactly where, but the general public will be
undoubtedly be
informed prior to the grand
opening.
