[Winona Online Democracy]

Here is big second to everything Chris and Craig said!

Move the Knopp Valley and Gilmore Valley intersection down to Saint Mary's,
build two frontage roads, put in stop lights, reduce speed limits up and
down the hill, block off existing entrances, and possibly re-route the
trucks around Hwy 23.

Rivers and roads are tough buggers at times. They don't follow our
arbitrary political boundaries. They flow through city, county, state, and
sometimes federal "fences." Those of us inside our little fiefdoms have a
tough job, we need to work with others who have their own fiefdoms to take
care of.

We need to have a pow wow of City, County, State, MN DOT, SMU, Chamber of
Commerce/trucking firms, local residents, and others to begin work on this
dangerous traffic problem.

Lastly, traffic problems are not normal or natural. They are the result of
bad planning or no planning. (This is not a criticism of any one elected
body, responsibility lies at many levels.)

I hope we can improve upon our individual and joint planning processes.
