Discussion on government consolidation could be very difficult and time consuming.  Typically those discussions don’t happen unless it is forced by economics or environment.  Things like high taxes or failed sewer systems force those discussions.

 

I need to be careful because of recent debate and strong opinions but it should be asked:

            Why do we still need township government?  What does a township offer that the County can’t do more effectively?  Perhaps in the days before telephones and cars they made good sense.  That day of limited communication ability is long gone.

            Does it make sense to have two or three cities side by side that duplicate most services? That is not my call to make, but I bet many opinions exist.
