The Winona-Goodview experiment I refered to was an
18 month (correct me Arlene) task force effort to examine the possibility of
merging Winona and Goodview. They even produced a promotional video (if
anyone has a copy I would love one), and recommended 'consolidation,' I think
the word was...but Goodview council voted no...that's my recollection.
Does anyone better remember how events unfolded? It was funded by Blandin
or someone, wasn't it?
As for the tax issue, Kathy, I was simply refering
to a distrust of big government. A fear of mandates coming down the
pike. Again, this is all speculation and philosophizing and I have friends
on all eighteen sides of these issues :-)
