Used tires are a serious environmental problem.  I agree with Paul, they should be receiving accolades for, recycling junk tires while creating jobs and electricity.  As I understand it the emissions are far less than most power plants.  This is a true environmental win.

Does anyone know why people would object to these improvements to the environment ?

Thanks Tom

Subject: FW: [Winona] tire burning plant?

It sounds like a terrific idea to clean up an environmental encephalitis problem, create jobs, save energy and when done correctly at a positive impact, all things considered, to the environment.   Great opportunity for their community.   Hats off to the leadership who are willing to take the heat to solve problems rather than just complain about them.

I am wondering what other citizens of Winona County think of the proposed tire burning plant in Preston.

I do not comprehend how this can be done and also give us clean air to breathe.  The amount of tires they are going to burn will have to be brought in by semi trucks as I cannot remember a railroad in Preston that is in use. This would involve more traffic and exhaust thus even more unclean air.

Good for the citizens of Preston for fighting this.
