Not all newer Fords can burn the flex fuels. We have a 2003 Mercury and can't burn flex fuels. Apparently, that is an option and since we bought it used we didn't have the option. Another way to check if your vehicle can burn this type of fuel is to check the VIN (the number that is on the dash that you can see from the outside on the driver's side). If your vehicle has a letter "k" in the 8th spot of the VIN you can burn E85 gas. I've heard that the mileage isn't as good when you burn E85 as when you burn gas. Anybody know for sure?
