If you disagree with something, then it is propaganda, otherwise it is news or 
information, right? (smiling!)

Seriously, consider that at times, as John N. Finn made clear - the local 
impact of national politics can be pertinent. Do our local elected and 
appointed work in a vacuum?  I think not. They are as connected to the nation 
as the rest of us, and many consult with peers all over the country. National 
issues can be terribly relevant.
 
Winona is not really an island in reality or as metaphor.
