Thanks.

Also, the fix was simple:
We disabled high-throughput for the SSID that feeds those scanners, while leaving
HT on for all other SSIDs. Praise the Virtual APs ;-)

WPA2/AES is mandatory for 802.11n high-throughput speeds. This applies to any wireless access point that meets the 802.11n draft 2.0 standard.

Re: [WIRELESS-LAN] Wireless-only in residence halls

Mike,

We don't have AP-125 in the dorms, we have AP-125 on main campus.
Our dorms are still on AP-61 (I wish we had AP-125 though!).
The throughput request in the dorms is way bigger than what we were
planning.

On main campus we do channel bonding at 5 Ghz not at 2.4 Ghz.
but we have 802.11n enabled (not bonding!) at 2.4 Ghz for the
improved PHY layer.

just an FYI:
Recently we have had a configuration issue related to 802.11n!
Aruba (it might be the case for other vendors) doesn't support
WPA-PSK over an SSID that does HT (High Troughput).
We have one SSID across campus for our Ticketing-Scanners doing WPA- PSK!
So, connectivity was interrupted. We discovered by reading the logs
(always read the logs ;-),
that Aruba warned us about WEP or TKIP not supported in HT mode. WPA-
PSK falls under TKIP. Heads up!
