Hi Mike, The vast majority of our stations connect on a WPA2 802.1x SSID. We also run a separate WEP/MAC address filtered SSID for gaming consoles and similar devices. Obviously WEP isn't a great idea, but devices like the Nintendo DS don't do anything better. Our desire to support any student devices and the non-sensitive nature of the traffic made the tradeoff worthwhile to us.

Are you using 802.1x, captive portal, MAC-auth (registered MAC) or a combination approach spread across separate SSIDs? Seems if you remove the jacks and students have devices that can't do dot1.x some sort of white-list (on or off controller) may be necessary.
