Damn, that is why I asked a few days ago if this is doable. Oh well...
I guess it is back to the drawing board. Either I buy another wap11
(which is what I am going to need in the future anyway or I just bad
this idea. It pains me to buy another of something because the other
one doesn't work right.

Thanks guys and if anybody has any other tips before I run this thing
back to best buy let me know. At least I didn't buy this thing online.

Subject: Wap11 AP Client Mode

Bill.

I too purchased a wap11 with the idea of connecting it up to the 2Wire
(Lucent) AP downstairs. I got the unit home, and began pulling my hair
out. I updated the firmware, i am now using an SMC firmware 1.4i-4, i
got the amtel smnp config tool, i read through nntp threads and searched

the web. In the end it turned out that while the wap11 does support AP
Client Mode, it only does so with other wap11's.

repeat only wap11-->wap11.

it sucks.

if i am wrong (please let it be so), would the person who has
successfully done this please stand up.

walter.
