Don't lose hope. I have made it to work under this setup:

Network of 5 workstations(with
DSL)->switch/hub->WAP11(APClient)->DWL1000AP(AP)->wirelessclient.

It should work for you too.

|Damn, that is why I asked a few days ago if this is doable.
|Oh well... I guess it is back to the drawing board. Either I
|buy another wap11 (which is what I am going to need in the
|future anyway or I just bad this idea. It pains me to buy
|another of something because the other one doesn't work right.
|
|Thanks guys and if anybody has any other tips before I run
|this thing back to best buy let me know. At least I didn't
|buy this thing online.

|Bill.

|I too purchased a wap11 with the idea of connecting it up to the 2Wire
|(Lucent) AP downstairs. I got the unit home, and began
|pulling my hair
|out. I updated the firmware, i am now using an SMC firmware 1.4i-4, i
|got the amtel smnp config tool, i read through nntp threads
|and searched
|
|the web. In the end it turned out that while the wap11 does
|support AP
|Client Mode, it only does so with other wap11's.
|
|repeat only wap11-->wap11.
|
|it sucks.
|
|if i am wrong (please let it be so), would the person who has
|successfully done this please stand up.
|
|walter.
