Has anyone tried running a cable out from a laptop to an external antenna with a mini-pci wifi card?

Anyone tried an 802.11g mini-pci card?

I'm interested because i've recently got a Tosh laptop that is "Wireless enabled." Looking at the internal mini-pci slot, there are two wires that go off in the direction of the back and screen supports. These have some weird looking and extremely tiny right angle plugs on the end. I'm guessing that these are the internal antenna connections. It looks like it might be possible to run a sub-miniature coax cable to the back and then fit an SMC or similar connector. But that would presumably mean losing the internal antenna.

I see Buffalo now do a G PCMCIA card with an MC Lucent connector. Maybe I should just get that and be done with it. ;-)
