Hi everyone,

I run all my waps in client mode except for the main AP of course.

I had to replace 5 WAPs on my network and it seems like I'm forced to get a
new one each week. Some of them after running for 1 year just stopped
working and no matter what you do they don't work.

One of them works for 3 minutes and then stops working. I can ping it, I can
get into the http conifg. I just don't have a link that works. If a reboot
it via the config or by powering it down it works again for 3 minutes. This
one is a v2.2 with firmware 1.1.

Another one was working great until today when it just drops all packets its
sending. It is getting packets but drops all outgoing packets. Pinging it is
also flaky sometimes it replies sometimes it doesn't. This is also a v2.2
running firmware 1.1. I tried a reset and re-flashing the firmware but
nothing helped.

So far the only wap that worked was my v1.1 before it fried in the heat and
my new 2.6 with the ATMEL firmware on it. The linksys firmware for the 2.6
doesn't work.

Does anyone have a better firmware for the v2.2?

Also is there a replacement I could use instead of the linksys? I need a
device that will do client mode and preferably something that I can easily
connect to a linksys end external antenna.

I'm so frustrated that I'm thinking of running fiber instead of the WLAN. If
I have to keep getting WAPs it will be cheaper to do fiber. :)

thanks

-Stefan
