Way cool! I was very brief in my last email, mentioning the _wifi aspect_ of the WW... as a potential _topic_ for the _BAWUG_ meeting this month. So, this meeting I'm talking about arranging for this friday would be a BAWUG meeting, not a WWFLOSSy meeting - and thus this meeting doesn't need a projector, wi'less mic' 'n' cam'a. :) Those, of course, _would_ be necessary for the Www... meeting. But, that is not this meeting. :) (If you can host one of the WWFLOSSWy meetings, in a month or so from now, w/ inet & AV, that could be great too!) But, an 802.11b inet connection I think is really very important to have at a wireless meeting! Michael - can you make arrangements for a space for this friday for a _BAWUG_ meeting? > This would be at SFSU as a guest of the student unix users group (in > the Student Center). > > Just say the word (I would prefer a little advance notice of course- > "next week" is less than ideal). Hey - no problem if you can't make the arrangements for _this_ friday. :) If you _can_ make arrangements for a space for this friday, that will be great, and a fine place AFAIC. But, since noone else has made any better suggestions, if you can't make the arrangements on this short of notice, I will definitely host a BAWUG meeting _someplace_ this friday for anyone who wants to attend. :) (Details later on that location, should the SFSU location not work out for this friday.) But, obviously, time is short, so it would be great if you could get permission AVSAP (As Very ...). :) I know "_this_ week" _is_ short notice, but since noone else is carrying the ball, ... I know it would have been nice to have more advance notice for the meeting, but worse than not lots of notice [ :( ] would be an October 2003 with no suns^d^d^d^dBAWUG meeting. [ <8-0 ! ] So, Michael, could you arrange it for _this_ friday 10/24, for approximately 6P for early bird get together, maybe a 7P or 8P ultra informal talk - I'll mention about the WIFI needs of the world wide Community Free SW development project involving netcast sw education & subsequent sw development activity. And mention how people interested in wireless might contribute to that effort. Maybe a 15 min presentation at this BAWUG event, then Q&A, then an open meeting discussing whatever wireless related or unrelated stuff anyone wants to talk about, including perhaps how to do the wifi for the WWCFSWDP. Lasting till say 9P, 10P, ...? McD's displeased with a PARTY! Holy FLOSS in Ronald McD, Batman! The founder & his wife die off the the whole company goes to hemp! :) Now, this 40+ estimate of yours: You be more of a optimist than is me, if you think 40 people will turn up for a BAWUG meeting on 3.5 days notice! But, I'm willing to be positively surprised! > There's alot of vegetarians in the BAWUG so eating is out of the > > question for a large part of the group (my self included). No, no no! Eating vegetarians isn't out of the question! This is SanFrancis Town. People here eat anything! And, Yo! For vegetarians who want to eat, McD's have McSalad, & McCookies, McFries, &, &, & McWater! All the McBalanced McIngredients of a McVegetarian McMeal! [If McDonalds be kind enough to offer Mcfree Mcwifi to BAWUG members, we ought to accept at least once, if only for the Mcxperience! :) ] -- http://www.fastmail.fm - Same, same, but different -- general wireless list, a bawug thing <http://www.bawug.org/> [un]subscribe: http://lists.bawug.org/mailman/listinfo/wireless
