We totally overflowed the dana street coffee shop the one time we tried that. Meeting size varies from 40-150 people, which exceeds most if not all spontaneous locations. Since we don't collect dues (something that we have thought of, we might want to revisit this) we can't pay rent for a space. Steve and Dan from layer42 once covered the space for us, if any other company wants to rent a room (cost is usually under $500, we can point you to places that are friendly) we would appreciate that.

Cheers,
Cliff

I considered sending "I'm working on it" to the list, but that seemed pretty lame imo.

That's certainly a responsible thought. But I don't think you need feel
it's lame at all! Your info is new from your last post, is relevant &
helpful. All of which, in my book, means thoughtful, not lame. :)\

I should be able to get some feeling for it by today
possibly

Cool! Please let us know as soon as you hear anything, one way or another. As a backup, I'll look through the list of wifi hotspots to locate a site, should sfsu not be available for this meeting.

Any list membes know of a cafe, or public space, (library? school?) w/
wifi that could likely accomodate a meeting this fri pm?

and I figured a "no" or "yes" would be better than a "we'll
see". I personally hate lame equivocation.

Working on it. I'll get back to you if it comes through on this short
notice.

Thanks! Would you please send the above message/reply to the list, so
that the list members can follow our progress on this, & perhaps they
might also give us some suggestions & help. :)

Thanks!
