Lee, I've resigned myself to using 5GHz backhauls here in the Los Angeles area. The last 12 months there has been an enormous increase of 2.4GHz AP's and wireless phones.
Anything I install in 2.4GHz is directional and mostly horizontally polarized. I removed my last omni antenna 6 months ago and replaced it with sector antennas.
