Same here.  Free if they provide it.  $75 including router is we do it.  Why, because we want it secured so the neighbors can't have my service for free, so we can password it so they can't screw it up, and we also turn on remote management so we can help them remotely if we want to.  I watch the internet and by 10-20 dollar refurb wireless routers and I think I make out pretty good.  And for the ones that die, we replace them no questions asked for the first year (because they are refurb)
