We use the x86 embedded Alix boards from PC Engines - they have shown outstanding performance and reliability in the field. The first couple of pages of http://www.qorvus.com/downloads/QNODEJr_OWNERS_DOCUMENTATION.pdf show photos of the Alix board with modular radios and the outdoor cabinet we use it with.
