We have routing at most every site. Sometimes we do bridge/vlan one hop
for sites if the router fails (we just most the interfaces to another
router port an the upstream site), or if we really don't have enough
battery backup at a site for a router and managed switch to go along
with the radio gear.

We now have MT routers at most sites running BGP (private AS per site).
Setting up routes and routing is very easy and automagic now.
