I think I had the issue with AT&T before. I'm not certain as I had periodic issues with receiving texts more so.
I remember a few months ago on my way to trivia on a Tuesday my text messages weren't working. I picked up a friend and she asked why I hadn't responded. I called Verizon so they'd fix it and I was receiving messages for at least 30 minutes (backed up from Sunday until Tuesday). NONE of these messages were from the free email to text service.
