+1 on this. IMHO the ISP should not be the Police. There are a pretty good amount of companies out there who contract with law firms, labels, or are just plain not legit. These companies are bounty hunters. They send out massive amounts of e-mail hoping to get a bite. If any money comes out of it they get a bounty.
My favorite are the people who say they will accept $15 via Paypal to prevent any more legal action.
