Chuck,

I have been using Crystal Reports and Witango for years.
I generate reports using Crystal reports from a workstation creatinge a pdf,
store them in the database, and our clients get on the web site to view the
reports where Witango pulls the PDF out of the database.

I don't remember the names of all the parts for Crystal, but the Web server
component for Crystal reports costs around $1000 per concurrent user. You
could run it on the same server as you Witango server. You would just call a
URL accssing your Crystal report and any needed parameters and it will deliver
the generated report to the browser. It is slick.

The developers version of Crystal reports comes w/ a 5 seat license for the
web component and costs around $500. At least for this price, you can test
it out w/o having to spend a fortune, and if you decide you need more seats,
then it is easier to justify.

Depending on how dynamic your reports need to be, there are ways to generate
Crystal reports w/o having to use the web server component from Crystal. I
will say, that you can do a lot of stuff with it, and depending on your
application and budget, you might want to spend the money for it. I think
what I am trying to say is it is expensive, but you get what you pay for.
Crystal Reports is a top notch product.

I am leaving on vacation tomorrow for, but if you want to call me when I get
back, we could talk about this.
