I had it display <@userreference> at the top of the application. It showed
'102FBDC4099F28273E0CE2DC' when the page started and when the user variables
disappeared it showed the same. So, it seems the userreference value does
not disappear.

I've attached the entire debug display from when it works and when it
doesn't, in case there's any clue in there.

Dave,

As a test, can you add something that echoes out the <@userreference>
value at the bottom of the page? It sounds like it's losing the
persistence of the session (often happens with either http/https
transitions or multiple objects on a page making requests) and if you
echo this out you can compare and see if there is a new userreference
session id being created. If that is the case, you may need to add the
<@userreferenceargument> as you mentioned. I've had this problem with
both T2K and other versions, so it's actually not necessarily new.

Hope this helps...

Jason
