I
remember reading an article in the Toronto Star's business section that talked
about spam filters that might be of interest to you. I wish I'd saved the
article (or a link) but I didn't. What it said was that certain spam filters
will pick up on words such as 'privacy', 'unsubscribe', etc. and treat them
as spam, blocking them from being delivered. The article did mention that there
were problems with legitiment messages being blocked. I don't know if AOL does
this but it might be something to look at. Perhaps you could look at the
contents of the message that you are sending and see if there might be an
offending word.
You
might also want to contact AOL to see if they could shed some light on why these
messages are not going through. They should be willing to co-operate. If one of
their subscribers can't get legitiment mail they might decide to go elsewhere
which AOL doesn't want. If you can't get any co-operation from AOL, perhaps you
can run some tests with one of the client's who has an AOL address. Try sending
them a message with very little text in it (to avoid any words that might be
picked up by the anti-spam filter). If you find out that is the culprit, you can
devise a way to address it.
Hope
this helps, Steve Smith
