Stefan, I do the same thing my customers host on Tronics some FMP customers at Digital forest or BuddySystems. But they are all used to pay hosting fees and the fees in all 3 cases a very reasonable. Tronics in particular provides outstanding service a reasonable fees especially for the smaller client and even for the larger client that has a small business need.
For instance we host a site a Tronics that servers the summer school programs for three of the bucks county school districts here in PA and the community school ( adult education ) site for the central bucks school district. The fees are a miniscule portion of what they take in. Central Bucks with its multi-million dollar data center could not maintain an up time even close to Tronics which is why the school board and even IT approved the move. I have a smaller client moving there and Tronics fees will be less then they are currently paying for a static site. So I agree that the smaller projects work just fine or at least they have for me. Of course I am a FMP developer also so I have that income as an important part of my business. Even with that I have been able to start to leverage Witango's database agnostic capabilities with FM7 new ODBC to build more jobs using the combined tools. When all is said and done we all to some extent have to follow our customers and be able to offer them the best tools for the job. That means different strokes for different folks. As long as Phil and the team continue to grow the product I think we are in good hands. I would love to learn .NET or JAVA if I ever have enough money in the bank and enough downtime to do it. on 5/20/05 17:52, Stefan Gonick at [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > Presumably, people have to pay for hosting everywhere.... :) > > > At 05:48 PM 5/20/2005, you wrote: >> Cool, >> >> So what you're saying is, if I'm a Witango developer, that all my customers >> can host at Tronics for free? >> >> Sign me and my customers up! >> >> >>> -----Original Message----- >>> From: Stefan Gonick [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] >>> Sent: Friday, May 20, 2005 3:36 PM >>> To: [email protected] >>> Subject: RE: Witango-Talk: Rumors of my demise have been greatly... >>> >>> Hi Scott, >>> >>> I don't provide a hosting service, Tronics does.
