our urchin server uses multiple log sources, and yes there are stats on
percentage of traffic coming from the various log sources,

Also, the reporting system automatically gives you an aggregrate report for
all the reports you have access to. So if you login as a superuser, that
can view all reports (for different domains), you can click on "all data" or
something like that on the bottom of the list, and you get a smaller subset
of the reports (since reporting on things like pages don't make sense across
sites) but for all the data. so you can see how many GB of data you served
up in a day across all sites.

Follow-on question on the Urchin solution.

Can you use it to aggregate log files into one result, where you have a
few webservers serving one domain? The roll-up information is what my
client would be interested in, while I am interested in both roll-up stats
and the breakdown of information, to be certain that all servers are sharing
the load relatively equally, etc., and if they're not, I'll get some helpful
insights into why not.

Over ... with thanks,
Ian

A good point, but if you use the actual Urchin software it reads logs
rather than depend on the JavaScript that the free Google Analytics uses. I
currently have some personal stuff using Google, and North stuff using our
own version of Urchin. Both are pretty good, but I do prefer the 'host it
yourself' option for that (script requirement) reason, not to mention
wanting to make sure we retain all the user data rather than give it to
Google and just hope it's always available.

Be mindful that Google and other external tools get their data from a

visitor, etc.

I'll post a quick vote for Urchin (Google)

It should satisfy all your requirements.

It uses it's own Web server, no need for IIS to serve the reports.
