Well, dockapps.org seem to work for the stuff I want. If the homepage links are dead, it's also natural to assume that the author did not produce an update from what is currently at dockapps.org > Dock Apps are, in my oppinion, a very important part of windowmaker. Yes. Actually I've been thinking that some dockapps should be shipped together with the wmaker-crm sources, in dockapps/ or something similar. It would contain important dockapps which improve/facilitate the user experience. For example, I think that 'wmsystemtray' and 'wmudmount' are too useful to remain anonymous among hundreds of other dockapps in the internet ocean. And mounting stuff easily without having to come up with hand-made /etc/fstab's is _very_ important for a user. Similarly, having a system tray to be able to use applications which expect to have icons there (gmail notifier and networkmanager stuff comes to mind). I know it's not a window manager business to deal with the problems which the dockapps solve, but there are some dockapps which greatly increase the user experience of wmaker. Some things should simply be ready to use after installing wmaker (like a clock, mixer, system tray, mount, battery/cpu/temperature/power monitor). So it is not like wmaker will deal with the problems dockapps solve. It should only provide an easy and standard way to have the solutions. > What can we do? I don't know.
