Try running "gnome-control-center" and you should see that the color
scheme and fonts of all gnome/gtk programs has changed.  Adjust the
global gnome/gtk font inside the control center and re-launch
firefox, etc.

If this works, simply launch gnome-control-center in your .xinitrc
before you exec wmii.
