Wow, thank-you. Everything is pretty again. I think this has to do with gnome-settings-daemon that the developer of Ion hates so much. gnome-settings-daemon seems very poorly documented, but I'll be investigating whatever I can. This page helps: http://scanline.ca/dpi/ - without gnome-settings-daemon the dpi seems to be set to 133x133. My default monitor has no entry in the xorg.conf, so I don't know how to add a "DisplaySize" to it. Apart from that though, I don't know how to set sound volume or get my wireless to connect (apart from running nm-applet). I see there are apparently scripts to do that but Eigenclass.org has been giving me 503: Service Unavailable for days now. I don't suppose someone has the scripts or ruby-wmii and can put them up somewhere else for me to download? If I can get the little niggles ironed out, I'm sure wmii will be as revolutionary for me as it is for the rest of the people (who have gotten the niggles ironed out...) One thing I had to do almost immediately was to change the Mod key to Mod4, the windows key, since so many apps use wmii's keys. Les
