Yannig: Yes as I said Cairo has experimental Quartz support. I have no idea
how good it is however. What I know, though, is that I could get the SDLClock
demo found on the Cairo/SDL page to work, so I guess using Cairo would most
likely work (we would still need to test text rendering).
Since Pango renders through Cairo it would probably also work, but the
problem with Pango is the amount of dependencies. Kurosu has been working on
removing libxml++ in order to have less dependencies, but adding Pango would
then add as many.
I still think keeping it modular is a good idea though (anyway it's not like
it's a compromise since it usually keeps the code cleaner)
