I would instead recommend git-svn and its rebase feature. Lately I have been
using it with our repo with great success. It has became my favourite svn
client.

Short intro:

Create a repo that has all of wormux's history with branches and tags:
git svn init -s svn+ssh://svn.gna.org/svn/wormux
git svn fetch

Committing changes locally (svn style):
git commit -a -m "your chagelog"

Sync-ing once more with the repo and also keep local changes fresh on top of
trunk (easier merge later):
git svn rebase

Committing to svn is left as an exercise to the user :-) since he shouldn't
commit to trunk this early anyway ;)
