I have been using WS_FTP (Pro and Light) for many years and I will second, 
with enthusiasm, all the positive responses you have received to your question.

One caveat:  Unsecure file transfer can be a major security risk!  WS_FTP 
offers SSL based secure FTP but that is not a satisfactory alternative for 
some (including me) who talk to Linux servers and run Open SSH 
servers.  For this reason, and this reason alone, I have gone away from 
WS_FTP Pro for my own daily use in maintaining my web sites.  When secure 
sessions are not available, I still revert to "Ol' Faithful" WS_FTP_Pro.
