Sorry, I did say the algorithm is the sematics - i.e. the meaning behind the flowchart.
An algorithm is a list of sequential steps/decisions each one following from the previous one (the flow of the logic). I did say a flowchart is a visual presentation (ie a form of communication) of the algorithm. If the algorithm (semantics) don't make sense the it's visual presentation (flowchart) won't either. Nobody mentioned nesting flowcharts (whatever that means: a flowchart is a flowchart).
