Let's try this one. Took all your suggestions and added plenty of debug. Added an item to the Configuration defaulting to false to show the meter/watt level so, by default, nobody will see this unless they check it.
There is a bit of a limitation on watts since using dB as the unit is coarser than one might want. And I'm truncating the value rather than rounding since I think that's a fair use. But you end up with a limited watt display once you get over 5 watts since dB is logarithmic and watts will jump more than 1W per dB level. We'd have to either change the return units from hamlib to floating point for STRENGTH. 73 Mike W9MDB
