When working with Bill on Kenwood hamlib problems, it became clear that when the rig "behaved badly" hamlib was not shy in complaining. For sometime hamlib + kenwood_ts_870 have worked happily together. Note I am a Mac user so your wsjtx.exe won't work for me. Perhaps that's why you have QSound in mainwindow and I don't. I'll turn on tracing and send you a log file.
