I'm running RC5 on the air for about an hour a day from NZ. Aside from
transmitting above 2000 Hz, I've tried sending "CQ PLUS ZL2IFB RF80" and
little free text messages to give more of a clue that I'm using the new 77
bit version . but I've noticed that the "PLUS" in my CQ message is not very
sticky. If I meddle with the F2 settings (or simply open F2 settings then
OK it, with no changes) or complete a QSO, the "PLUS" gets dropped from my
CQ message as it reverts to the default generated message "CQ ZL2IFB RF80".
If this still occurs when people are using those 4 characters 'for real' to
send CQ DX or CQ NONA or CQ TEST or whatever, this will be more of an
annoyance.

Also, by the way, I have seen RC5 transmit "<CQ_plus> ZL2IFB RF80" at least
once - presumably sending a hashed message? This happened more often with
the previous release but something is still not quite right there. I think
the button shows the message as "CQ plus ZL2IFB RF80" when it sends the
hashed version, so it looks like whatever updates it to all uppercase
prevents the hashing.

PS The team's lack of response to my previous RC5 bug report suggests maybe
I'm whistling down the wind here . but I'm dutifully reporting bugs as
requested . QSL?
