Hi Chuck,
the idea is a hint to v2.0.0 RC3 or RC4 users who probably will not have
their "Force 77-bit Transmissions" option checked. They will decode
77-bit but reply in 75-bit. If they are still following the
recommendations that came with the versions they are using then on 7074
and 14074 they will have 77-bit Tx switched off, 77-bit QSOs were
originally recommended to run on 7078 and 14078.
