OK so thats a no go after sending cq 1 time the next time is jumps out of whack to 880 mhz.  I'm thinking it could be a hamlib issue not responding fast enough or something.

how are you controlling PTT? Is the "Settings->General->Allow Tx frequency changes when transmitting" unchecked?

Is the DDS controller interface documented, does it support the full FT-857/897(D) CAT protocol including any defects?
