ok so while testing further it seems that the format the freq is being
sent via cat is where the issue is, If I send set freq on tx to my
startup variable value it jumps right there and then back on the fake
split, so once I see what is sent from CAT maybe and offset value or
something.

RR, if you can isolate the CAT sequence that causes the unexpected
jump that would help. Otherwise I can send you a build of WSJT-X with
CAT trace enabled which may help.
