Colleagues propose to fix Loggers software? But gentlemen, is it easy
to announce here?
Two of the respondents were responsible for making the required changes
in WSJT-X and the DX Lab Suite logging software, we are not just
announcing, we did the required changes which were trivial and quick.
And to achieve the result from all authors of the software is quite
problematic.
Which is why software and service like WSJT-X, DX Lab Suite, and LoTW
offer transnational support. E.g.
WSJT-X and DX Lab Suite DXKeeper both accept MODE=FT4 in imported ADIF
style QSO records.
DX Lab Suite when interacting with LoTW supports matches with LoTW
pseudo mode DATA while correctly recognizing it is a generic substitute
for some more specific digital mode.
LoTW accepts ADIF QSO records with MODE=FT4 as far as I know, it also
via it's tQSL front end processor allows users to map a logging
application mode to the DATA mode as a transitional arrangement until
logging applications become ADIF compliant for any new digital mode.
Your complaints seem biased, unreasonably, against the LoTW service. If
you don't like the service they provide then you are not obliged to use
it. If your complaint is based on your use of an unsupported, or
abandoned logging application or one that requires you to pay money to
get the latest revisions; then I suggest you carefully think about why
you are using such an application and whether your ability to migrate to
another application in future has been compromised.
