Just as a minor data point the waterfall does not necessarily need to fit the monitor. On my laptop on the shack I have the waterfall extended to over 4000 Hz and the rightmost portion is usually off my screen to the right. If I want to see what is up there I just drag the window to the left but I rarely need to do that. Not really relevant to the visually impaired I suppose but it is something a lot of ops might not think about.
