Hi Andreas, It would be nice for you, if the echo mode had a ‘fail safe’ setting that forces the transmission to 1500 Hz. The source code is available and you may add that into the program. Otherwise the instructions are clear how to use the echo mode.

I also read Bob's (KA1GT) article. Please have a look at this short recorded screen session: https://icecreamapps.com/v/fkkg3dt Either right-clicking into the wide graph and setting the offset - which should not work since it should be fixed to 1500- or by previously being in Q65 with an offset will cause this. It follows the pattern of @0-500 offset will subtract 1500Hz, @501-1000 will subtract 1000Hz, @1001-1500 will subtract 500Hz and so on until +1500Hz I think this feature is used to keep the tones in the middle of the TX passband, but it also requires a frequency shift of the generated tone which does not happen because it's set to a fixed 1500Hz. In short, yes, there should not be a frequency shift on TX in the first place and that is a bug IMHO. I enabled logging for the rig transactions and the radio is indeed commanded to go to the wrong offset on VFO B it should be 144065000. rig_set_split_freq called vfo=VFOB, curr_vfo=VFOA, tx_freq=144064000 It works fine when I right click on 1500Hz in the wide graphs or when 1500 was selected in the previous mode. 73, Andreas, N6NU On Thu, Aug 3, 2023 at 11:45 AM Joe Taylor via wsjt-devel <wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net <mailto:wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net> > wrote: Hi Andreas, Have you read the full-length paper about Echo mode in WSJT-X 2.6.0 and later? See item #34 in the list of WSJT-related references here: https://wsjt.sourceforge.io/refs.html . As described there, in Echo mode the transmitted audio-frequency tone should always be 1500 Hz. -- 73, Joe, K1JT On 8/2/2023 10:47 AM, Andreas Junge via wsjt-devel wrote: > I posted my initial question on the groups.io <http://groups.io> list as > well, but Charlie, DL3WDG suggested to post it here as well. > > This is reproducible.
