I have moved that file to /Library/LaunchDaemons-disabled, and idem for the 
companion LaunchAgent file. Sometimes I indeed get a crash on startup but I've 
rather written that down to something graphics/GPU related until now. Usually 
it only crashes once, and starts fine when I retry.

Uninstall, do a `defaults delete org.macosforge.xquartz.X11` in a terminal and 
reinstall?
