Good.  Leave it.

Just know what it does.

If you had done this same fork divergence and then just pulled without it,
instead of rebasing your master branch onto upstream, it'd have *merged*
upstream's changes into your master, and made a much more convoluted 
history.  Which you'd then want to discard anyway, since your commits
were mooted in upstream.
