Reinstall what? Linux/Unix is usually pretty rock-solid and mostly impervious to things like this. What would become corrupted sufficiently to require anything to be reinstalled? Note: I'm not a Mac user, but _am_ a Unix and Linux user/SysAdmin, so I'm not sure how fragile a Mac is these days.
