Yes, a guy from SoundCloud contacted me directly via email. We exchanged a
couple of messages and agreed on "Cloud of Sound" for name, but nothing
specific for the logo.
I haven't been able to find the guildelines on their developer website yet,
so see the relevant parts of his first email below:
We have decided to be more strict in terms of letting third-party apps use
our name and logo. The goal is to make it more clear what apps are official
and also avoid having our logo and name tweaked without our involvement.
To make it "equal for everyone", it would be great if you could help us by
renaming the "XBMC SoundCloud Plugin" and take our logo out of your logo.
Sorry for asking, but we felt that it was time to do something before we get
too many apps, and I hope it's not too much of a problem to change it!
We'll put some guidelines up on the site soon, but the short story is:
- don't use the word "SoundCloud" in the app name
- don't use the SoundCloud logo in the app logo
- make it clear that the app is "connected to SoundCloud", "powered by
SoundCloud", etc. in the app description
- do not tweak our logo if you use it in the app or description
There's this: http://soundcloud.com/developers/policies#trademark
Doesn't sound very restrictive at all. Why would they distribute a
"logo pack" containing vectorized EPS logos when they don't want
anybody to use them?
Can't you convince the guy to change the logo into something that
makes it clear it's not officially from them but still use the
soundcloud logo? I mean people should know it's about soundcloud,
otherwise it doesn't make much sense. And BTW you can tell them I
registered for a paying account because I got to know about soundcloud
in XBMC.

I think the 2 key lines on their page are:
* design your site, logos and titles with unique branding elements
that are clearly distinct from SoundCloud
* ensure that any SoundCloud logos or titles are displayed less
prominently than those of your application or site.
So they want you to make your own logos, but you can tag your app with
their "powered by" or something logo.
