Hi, My current hardware is an IBM System x3650 server and HS20 blades. The operating system is CentOS 6.2 using xCAT 2.7.1.
I changed back to 'pxe' in the noderes, for the netboot type, and reset the dhcp files and service. Now I am getting the following messages; May 10 10:07:20 gouda-san xCAT: xCAT: Allowing rpower to gouda6 boot for root from localhost May 10 10:08:52 gouda-san dhcpd: DHCPDISCOVER from 00:14:5e:36:46:aa via eth0 May 10 10:08:52 gouda-san dhcpd: DHCPOFFER on 192.168.111.59 to 00:14:5e:36:46:aa via eth0 May 10 10:08:56 gouda-san dhcpd: DHCPREQUEST for 192.168.111.59 (192.168.111.1) from 00:14:5e:36:46:aa via eth0 May 10 10:08:56 gouda-san dhcpd: DHCPACK on 192.168.111.59 to 00:14:5e:36:46:aa via eth0 May 10 10:08:56 gouda-san in.tftpd[19750]: RRQ from 192.168.111.59 filename pxelinux.0 May 10 10:08:56 gouda-san in.tftpd[19750]: tftp: client does not accept options May 10 10:08:56 gouda-san in.tftpd[19751]: RRQ from 192.168.111.59 filename pxelinux.0 May 10 10:08:56 gouda-san in.tftpd[19752]: RRQ from 192.168.111.59 filename pxelinux.cfg/c0b3cf27-3b29-b601-0680-00145e3646aa May 10 10:08:56 gouda-san in.tftpd[19753]: RRQ from 192.168.111.59 filename pxelinux.cfg/01-00-14-5e-36-46-aa May 10 10:08:56 gouda-san in.tftpd[19754]: RRQ from 192.168.111.59 filename pxelinux.cfg/C0A86F3B May 10 10:08:56 gouda-san in.tftpd[19755]: RRQ from 192.168.111.59 filename xcat/centos5/x86_64/vmlinuz May 10 10:08:56 gouda-san in.tftpd[19756]: RRQ from 192.168.111.59 filename xcat/centos5/x86_64/initrd.img It appears that the management node is serving out the requested files. But the blade console for a centos5 install fails with a repeating segfault error. Also tried a fedora14 install which fails with a kernal panic. Can someone tell me if there is a problem with using xCAT 2.7.1 on a CentOS 6.2 management node? It would be helpful to have a list of what hardware works with which operating system and xCAT version (or a list of what will not work) Thanks in advance for any assistance.
