I think I understand your situation, basically, you want an external 
domain to be listed in the /etc/resolv.conf on the compute nodes(generated 
by dhcp automatically), while at the same time, you do not want this 
external domain to be added as dns zone though the external net has been 
defined in the xcat network table, right?

If yes, the current xcat code can not cover this case, seems the current 
support works fine for the "cluster-internal multiple domains", but failed 
for the external domain such as your case. We need a fix here. I opened 
xcat bug https://sourceforge.net/p/xcat/bugs/3478/ as a followup.

One more question: what's the value of networks.nameservers for your 
external net? is it the same as your dns forwarders? Thx.
