Hi, folks,

something new about writing the manual?

Who is the "leader" of manual writing ?
Would like to help and do a chapter in TeX / LaTex like due to it´s "killer abilities" Max already mentioned.
If not writing Tex, then I´d use ASCII.
I wrote a mail to Martin, suggesting, to write the translation in ASCII, and afterwards the people who like to do it in word or something else can do just as they like to do.

Maybe a couple of pages can be used from my older -incomplete - german translation of 5.1.2 -written in Latex- uncorrected, where I copied the pictures from the screen - think, there´ll be a better way. I stopped because of that and because the saison was beginning... Should I upload this?

So, if you think, I can do something, let me hear about that ..

Claus

  Google Docs is not very
sophisticated: it doesn't even have text styles, so if we want to
change a certain text, we have to touch each and every line using it
  manually.
As somebody already pointed out in a recent posting, most people don't get the
concept of text formatting anyway, and even if they do, it ain't necessarily
the commonly accepted concept, so maybe it is not any disadvantage at all NOT
to have this feature available on 'production level', but only apply consistent
formatting in the final stage.
There is nothing worse than having a badly formatted text as a source for
editing.
